Natl Stds Info Sheet - October 2010.pdf
The 23 Big Issues Knowledge base was started in 2000
Raw information is sometimes called data. When it is analysed in the right way it becomes knowledge. So rather than creating a data base of responses, we are creating a Knowledge Base.
As we collect the survey responses, they will be put into a computer in a form that can be extracted in a number of ways providing trends and comparisons that are not available at present.
Over time, we will build a picture of what is happening about the issues and how things are changing. For example, if the percentage of responses from an area shows that one issue is decreasing in importance, then we can further analyse what good things are being done in that area. With this information, we can let other areas know.
During the 2010 TheMHS Consumer Day further work was done reviewing the original 23 Big Issues Report - read the report titled Issues 010
To read the feedback about the day and see the resources that are being created from the day go to Projects page
HOMTORY NSW Consumer Voice
The NSW Consumer Voice Group was formed in NSW after a forum to look at the issue of smoking
cessation in NSW Mental Health Units at a forum in Croydon in June 2007.
More information about the forum and report is avalable at the smoking issues working group www.righttochoosealliance.com.au .
The NSW Consumer Voice group meets on the 1st Saturday of March, June, September and December
each year at the Trades Hall, on the corner of Sussex and Goulburn St, Sydney from 10.30 till 12.30.
We are self supporting by our own contributions. Membership is free and the only requirement to be a
member is that you are a mental health consumer who has had some contact with the mental health system.
We have formed a number of working groups and the web site will highlight the progress with our work.
The best way to contact members of the NSW Consumer Voice group is through our publicity officer
